Toes on the Beach

Recently went to the beach in Monterey, CA and took this silly "toes on the beach" photo with my phone. Loved it so much I wanted to frame it ... here is my easy beachy frame.


Take one cheap wood photo frame, give it a quick coat or two with your favorite blue paint (Blissful Blue from Delta.) Then with your glue gun or fav glue attach whatever stones you might have in your crafting box :-)

Easy, cheap, Fabulous .... and a sweet reminder of the summer day I had my "toes on the beach."

Another T-Shirt Recycle

Before putting away my rotary cutter yesterday I decided to do one more project - and look ... a darling t-shirt bracelet. A perfect accessory to wear with my school spirit shirts!!!

Using my rotary cutter I cut strips of t-shirt fabric 1" wide by 5" long.

Then tied them on to an old "bling" bracelet (notice all the missing stones!!) I tied each strip of fabric in a double knot to the bracelet in random order. So quick and easy ... and So-So Cute!!!

"Bling" T-Shirt Recycle

Working at a school I seem to have lots and lots of school spirit shirts. I loved this "bling" shirt - but I didn't like the way it fit me - so I decided to take it and make a cute decoration for my office.

Using a canvas framed decoration that I got at the $ Store (and just never used) I cut out the "bling" from the shirt using my rotary cutter - then stretched it over the frame and stapled it in place with my staple gun.

Totally Easy ... and I think it will look Just So Fabulous on the shelf over my desk!!!

July 4th Firecracker Cans

Here is an fun and easy July 4th craft that I actually made several years ago ... but still love to put out every July.

Supplies Needed: Tin cans (all sizes - empty, label removed and washed), Acrylic paints in Patriotic colors, star shaped paint sponges, Sharpie marker (black), hammer and nail, chenille stems in red, blue, gold or silver.

Directions: Remove label, wash out cans and let dry. Paint the can (make take two coats) with acrylic paint - let dry. Don't forget to paint the top of the can also!!

Using sponges and acrylic paint apply stars in any pattern/design you choose - let dry. Using the Sharpie Marker - Outline some of the stars if desired. Punch a hole in the top of the can with the hammer and nail. Curl several chenille stems around a pencil or dowel - insert in to the hole on top of the can. And there you have it!!! Sooooo super simple and easy!!

Easy Initial Project

Initials/Letters are very popular in home decor right now. I am jumping on the band wagon and starting to collect the letter "J" to decorate my bedroom :-) Here is a very easy, quick, and inexpensive project for you to try.

Supplies: Jute, Hot Glue Gun, Cardboard Letter "J" purchased at Michaels for $.89 cents !!! (Only $.89 cents ... can't beat that!!!)

Just wrap the jute around the letter ... keeping jute tight and hot gluing here and there to hold in place. I glued burlap on the top of the letter just to make the project faster and easier :-) So super easy ... and it's just so Fabulous !!!

Easy Vintage Look Fabric Flowers

Fabric flowers are all the rage and I have learned a super easy and fast way to make them.

Start with felt and strips of fabric ... any type of fabric will work. (Look closely at the finished project - you will see I even used a strip of fabric from an old T-Shirt. :-) Tear or cut the fabric in to strips about 1-2" wide ...

Cut your felt into a circle slightly bigger than the size you want your finished flower. Tie a knot in one end of the fabric. Using your hot glue gun - glue the knot on to the felt and then just wrap the fabric around the knot.

Twist and scrunch and glue the fabric as you wrap it around the knot ... very easy ... the more twists and scrunches the better !!

To finish - tuck end of fabric under its self and secure with glue. Trim extra felt off if desired.

I finished these by adding rhinestone embellishments and backing some of of them with burlap (my fav fabric these days!!) Look again at how I trimmed the felt some off some of the flowers - but on others I didn't.

You can add the flowers to any project ... I hot glued my finished flowers on this frame - along with more rhinestones. Didn't it turn out so fabulously cute!!!
